What we collect
When you create a price watch, Dealwatch collects your email address, chosen target price, and the product and retailer connected with that watch. We also receive basic technical and aggregated usage information needed to run and protect the website. Product-page visits can contribute to an aggregate “Hot right now” signal; this does not store an account, email address, IP address, cookie or device identifier. If you use the homepage personalization feature, your Dealwatch searches, selected retailers and categories, and recently viewed products are stored in your browser’s local storage to shape recommendations on that device. This activity is not sent to Dealwatch as a browsing-history profile; to request similar products, the latest viewed product’s retailer and SKU are sent to Dealwatch’s recommendation endpoint. You can turn personalization off or clear this activity using the controls beneath the homepage recommendations.
Why we use it
We use watch details to send a confirmation email, send a price alert if the confirmed target is reached, provide an unsubscribe link, and prevent misuse. We use aggregated website analytics to understand which pages are being used. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Service providers
Dealwatch stores watch data in its OCI-hosted PostgreSQL database, uses Resend to deliver alert emails, and uses Vercel to host the website and provide aggregated analytics. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services.
Website measurement
We use Google Tag Manager to manage website measurement tags. Loading its code connects your browser to Google and shares technical request information, such as your IP address and browser details. Tag Manager itself does not set analytics cookies; tags enabled through it may collect additional usage data or set cookies. We do not send price-watch email addresses or alert tokens to its data layer. We will update this policy when additional analytics tags are enabled. Retention and choices
A price watch remains stored while it is active and until it is cancelled or has fired. You can cancel from the link in the alert email. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, email us using the contact details below.
Security and contact
We use reasonable technical controls to protect stored information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. For privacy questions or complaints, contact contact@dealwatch.com.au. We will review the request and respond as soon as reasonably practical.
Changes
We may update this policy when Dealwatch changes. The current version will always appear on this page with its revision date.
